Anglers Resort Condo got its start in the 1950s when it was built as a family style motel, catering to Anglers. In 1980 the motel was converted to condominiums. In July 2010, we were looking for a last minute getaway for the 4th of July and came upon one of the units which was available. We loved the relaxing feel of the courtyard and pool, the dock for our boat, and the closeness of the beach. While staying there we found out that unit 6 was available for sale. We called the realtor and made arrangements to see the unit. We had already planned a vacation on the island for later that month. The picture to the right is a "selfie" of us while staying at El Galeon, discussing whether or not we should buy. We made an offer shortly afterwards. If you have stayed in our unit, you may have seen a framed print of this picture. In late November our offer was accepted and we closed on the unit in December 2010. December 2010 was spent renovating the unit every weekend. In April 2011 we did a full kitchen remodel with new cabinets. In April of 2012 we updated the bathroom. We have always tried to furnish our unit the way we want it when we stay there, and how we would want it if we were guests. We are now retired and spending more time there when there are no guests. Many of our guests write in our guestbook to tell us how much it feels like home and that they love the decor. The home page photo was taken by our granddaughter, Grace. We liked the picture so well that it has now become our home page picture. We hope you relax and enjoy a stay at our beautiful condo.
